38sqm furnished Appartment with garden in one of the best areas of central Dortmund €410 p.m. + €150 extra costs
This little flat with one bedroom and one living room lies in the courtyard of a 1905 built house, so it is really quiet, you hear the beards singing. Straight in front of it is a small garden with a pond, so you even got some nature in the center of Dortmund in the lively Kreuzviertel.
Your bedroom is about 17sqm has a huge wardrobe (3 x 2,30m), a bookshelf, a 1,40 x 2m bed (mattress you have to bring with you) and a small kitchen with fridge containing a small freezer, 2 induction hotplates to cook on and extra kitchen cupboards with extensible board for taking your breakfast. Right next to it is a partly newly renovated bath (7sqm) with a new bathtub, lit by 2 huge windows.
In front of the bedroom is your 15sqm living room and study, containing an office desk including drawers, 2 large shelves, a wardrobe and a leather sofa, which can turn into a bed, if you got guests. In the shared cellar there is a laundry machine exclusively for you and place to hang your laundry. Your bicycle can be parked in the courtyard, a car port or such is not available, as this flat is in the center of Dortmund. Everybody parks in the open.
The costs for this flat are a higher than an unfurnished flat in the northern part of Dortmund, but you get a safe place to really feel comfortable and welcome.
In the house there are 10 more people living, including 2 kids. The community is very open and friendly, so this is not an anonymous place, but to connect with people.
You will notice this flat being excellently located. For your daily needs the next supermarket is about 150m away, the next subway station 50m, the inner city ring 400m. Bars, restaurants, doctors, hospitals, bakeries, parks and everything else is in walking distance, the central building of the Fachhochschule Dortmund is right next to it (100m), Dortmunds Main Station with trains connecting to the rest of the Ruhrgebiet (Essen, Bochum etc.), Hamburg, Berlin, Cologne and many other cities is just a 7 minute subway ride. The Kreuzviertel itself is a very lively, upmarket quarter with plenty of restaurants and bars, small shops, some parks, a lot of green and quite some buildings from the turn of 19th/20th century (as the one you are moving in).
As I do like my furniture: No animals please!
The flat is not suitable for 2 grown-up people (several have already asked, that's why I'm writing this. It is a no smoking flat, if you want to smoke, you just go in front of the door (as I do myself, too). The flat is fully furnished with kitchen (fridge, 2 hotplates, microwave with convection oven) but without decoration, contents of the shelfs/wardrobes/cupboards, mattress or any technical equipment like TV etc.. Rental deposit is three monthly rents of €410. The rental extra costs of €150 p.m. cover everything necessary like heating, water, electricity, 100 Mbit internet via WiFi, garbage collection etc., but of course no cleaning service. That you got to do yourself, but if you want, I can leave you my cleaning robot for small money 🙂
Basically the sublease is for 2,5 years.
