Research Assistant (m/f/d)

Founded in 1991, the Wuppertal Institute sees itself as a leading international think tank for impact and application-oriented sustainability research. Its work focuses on shaping transformation processes towards a climate-friendly and resourceefficient world.

Your Tasks
The candidate should support various projects of the research unit Structural Change and Innova-tion within the devision Future Energy and Industry Systems. The research projects deal with the topics: global energy transitions, specifically coal phase-out, decarbonising industry and just transition.

You will work within the team of the Berlin Office of the Wuppertal Institute and support specifically with:

 Literature and internet research
 Support in the preparation of scientific texts
 Preparation of presentations
 Assistance in the organization and implementation of events and workshops

Your Profile
 You have good academic and analytical skills. You are currently studying political, social, natural, environmental sciences or a similar study programme – enrollment is mandatory for this position.
 You should have a high interest in sustainability topics: energy transitions, sustainable regi-onal development, green jobs, just transition and the role of unions in the pathway towards a zero-carbon economy.
 You have good communication and intercultural competences. You are a teamplayer, but able to work independently.
 You have good German and very good English language skills (oral and written). Further language skills (specifically Bahasa or Hindi) are of advantage but not mandatory.
 You are confident in the use of common MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Lay-out skills are an advantage.

What we offer
During your work as a research assistant, you will gain insight and practical experience in the dy-namic research area of sustainability and energy transitions. Our Berlin office is characterized by a collegial and international atmosphere. The position comprises 19 hours/week and is initially limited until 31/03/22 (end of semester), but an extension is sought. Your working hours can be arranged flexibly.
